In line with its plan for increasing process efficiency, Montecon has recently included two new Kalmar brand RTGs (Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes) model E-one2 and manufactured in Finland - towards improving its terminal operations.
Arrival of 15 terminal tractors for Montecon.

In early February, Montecon received a shipment of 15 Kalmar Ottawa terminal tractor units (4x2 Off-Road). This is excellent news in what concerns the management of our terminal, for it implies the completion of the cycle that is part of the operational mechanism of vessels. Today, both the equipment and the work-team involved are part of our company.
Successful rescue drill in waters of the Port of Montevideo

Montecon successfully completed a man overboard rescue drill that included the Navys team of divers, the Montevideo Port Coast-guard, the National Ports Authority, and Montecon S.A.s Occupational Health and Safety Department (SYSO).

On this occasion, we are addressing you to share some news of great interest to all. Last September 6th, the National Port Authority (Administración Nacional de PuertosANP) subscribed a services contract involving the construction of Berth C at the Port of Montevideo Uruguay.

The arrival of our sixth Mobile Crane is already around the corner, during the past days it was loaded in Rotterdam with destination Montevideo, this means that the arrival of the crane is expected by the end of October 2010, as soon as the vessel arrives to Montevideo the crane will be discharged by Montecon and the commissioning process will begin, process that will be performed together by Montecon and Gottwald (the crane provider).

During last month we received two brand new Reachstackers shipped directly from France to Montevideo, arriving in separate shipments they were immediately commissioned and both are now operating normally.
